Can you believe it is 2007 already! It does not seem like that long since everyone was celebrating the millenium [ both at 2000 and at 2001!] Even in that short time so much has changed - computers are smaller and cheaper, digital has arrived in a big way, a lot of people's atitudes about the world and the environment have changed.
Personally -
2000*My mother died after falling ill in Majorca, and spending 10 weeks in intensive care[bad year]
2001*I got a full time job again(after ten years of seasonal posts)[a good year];
2002*I met someone I could call my soul mate [a good year];
2003*We got married [a very good year],
2004*then we discovered he had inoperable advanced cancer [six months to the day we married] and he died a very short 8 weeks later [ after being told he had 8 - 12 months or so] and 8 weeks laer I was told I had Thyroid cancer - which was operated on and removed [a dreadful year];
2005*got an all clear about my cancer (benign), my 'workplace' amalgamated with another charity in April and then the whole charity was liquidated by the Directors in the December [21st] [started good ended bad- year];
2006* my best friends ended their relationship after 17 years [but still work together?!!] ; I was back into seasonal work ; got a life insurance payout, so used that to put in a new kitchen, new carpets for a few rooms and changed my car. [OK year]
Did you make any New Year resolutions?
I did - after seeing a photograph taken of me from the side I have decided that for the sake of my health and fitness
- I have to lose weight, tone up and get fit.
I am going to join the local 'Rosemary Conely Diet and Fitness club' when it reopens on Monday 8th, and work at changing my lifestyle!
Watch this space for updates on my progress from time to time!
